ARCHITECTS choose Mermet fabrics as part of an INTEGRATED DESIGN PLAN to enhance daylighting, reduce energy consumption, improve indoor environmental quality and contribute to sustainable building practices.

Mermet solar screen fabrics are offered in a variety of colors and openness factors to preserve the desired amount of natural daylight. Proper use of daylighting reduces the need for energy to run lights, as well as the amount of excess heat generated by artificial lighting. Installing shading systems that feature solar screen fabrics helps CONTROL SOLAR HEAT GAIN and glare, protecting building inhabitants and valuable interiors from UV rays while regulating indoor air temperature. An integrated design approach that includes Mermet fabrics can easily result in a significant reduction in overall energy loads.

Mermet fabrics are GREENGUARD and Oeko-Tex certified, and fire rated to NFPA 701 standards. These certifications mean that Mermet fabrics meet or exceed the stringent field-validated standards for "low emissions" and are safe to use in all building interiors. Low-emitting products that qualify for GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality and GREENGUARD Children & Schools certification are recognized as credit criteria for several different points in the USGBC’s LEED® GREEN BUILDING Rating System.
